The Role
Door2Travel Limited is seeking a motivated and results-driven Business Development Manager to support the growth and expansion of the business. The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and expanding the company’s client base.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct market research to identify emerging travel trends, new client segments and growth opportunities within the travel industry.
- Develop and implement business development strategies aimed at increasing the company’s market share and revenue in London and the wider UK.
- Identify opportunities for inbound and outbound travel services and promote travel packages in key international markets.
- Approach businesses requiring regular travel arrangements and develop corporate travel contracts covering flights, accommodation, transport and events.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, including HR and procurement teams, in order to secure repeat bookings and long-term contracts.
- Develop and manage partnerships with airlines, hotels, tour operators, destination management companies and other travel suppliers.
- Negotiate favourable supplier agreements, commission structures and exclusive travel packages to ensure competitive pricing and service delivery.
- Collaborate with suppliers and partners to design and promote specialised travel experiences such as luxury holidays, adventure travel, group tours and destination weddings.
- Generate new business leads through networking, referrals, industry events, trade fairs and travel exhibitions, and convert leads into long-term clients.
- Monitor competitor activity and analyse market developments in order to identify high-demand travel niches and inform strategic decision-making.
- Provide strategic recommendations to senior management to support the long-term growth and expansion of the business.
- Demonstrate strong sales, negotiation and relationship-management skills when dealing with clients, suppliers and industry partners.
- Maintain a strong understanding of travel booking systems, supplier networks and international travel markets.
- Effectively represent the company at meetings, events and industry forums while managing multiple partnerships, negotiations and projects simultaneously.
- Work effectively with clients and partners from diverse cultural backgrounds and contribute to achieving the company’s commercial targets.
Requirements
- A degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Tourism Management, Hospitality Management is preferred.
- 3–7 years of relevant experience as a Travel consultant or travel agent, Sales executive in tourism, Account manager for travel products, Partnerships manager for tour operators or airlines
- Experience working with tour operators, hotels, airlines, or corporate travel clients is highly valued.
- Working knowledge of Global destinations and tourism trends, Travel packages and itinerary planning, Airline ticketing and fare structures, Visa requirements and travel regulations, Tourism seasons and customer travel patterns
- Knowledge of booking and reservation systems such as Amadeus, Sabre, Travelport is preferred.
- IATA certification from International Air Transport Association is valued
- Tourism or travel management diplomas
- Sales or marketing certifications
- Passion for travel and tourism
- Willingness to travel for meetings, trade shows, and industry events
